El presidente colombiano, Juan Manuel Santos, dará a conocer hoy los nombres de los negociadores del proceso de paz en este país suramericano, oficializado la víspera por el Gobierno y la guerrilla. Tal anuncio se hará a las 08:00 hora local mediante un comunicado difundido por la Casa de Nariño, sede de la Presidencia, y unos minutos después lo harán las Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia (FARC), desde La Habana, Cuba.
La puesta en marcha de la segunda fase de las negociaciones, iniciadas 18 meses atrás con el acercamiento exploratorio de ambas partes, fue acogida con beneplácito por sectores políticos, institucionales, entes gubernamentales y la sociedad civil colombiana.
La agenda que se discutirá en octubre en Oslo, capital de Noruega, incluye cinco puntos fundamentales, entre ellos el desarrollo rural integral, garantías para el ejercicio de la oposición ciudadana, el abandono de las armas y la reinserción de las FARC en la vida civil.
Ambas partes reconocieron que tienen por delante un camino difícil, lleno de retos, pero imprescindible para poner fin a un conflicto que dura casi medio siglo y construir una paz real, estable, duradera.
“La salida no es la guerra”, subrayó el máximo líder de las FARC, Rodrigo Echeverri, alias Timoleón Jiménez (Timochenco).
Llegamos a este diálogo después de 10 años “asesinados por el embate militar”. “Volvemos reconocidos como contrincantes militares y políticos, acompañados por la comunidad internacional. Es a los millones de víctimas y afectados por las políticas neoliberales, argumentó, a quienes corresponde jugar su rol protagónico por una Colombia en paz”.
“Ha vuelto a abrirse la puerta de la esperanza”, sentenció.
